چکیده

Abstract Semiconductors and the associated methodologies applied to electrochemistry have recently grown as an emerging field in energy materials technologies. For example, semiconductor membranes heterostructure fuel cells are new technological trend, which differ from traditional cell principle employing three basic functional components: anode, electrolyte, cathode. The electrolyte is key device performance by providing ionic charge flow pathway between anode cathode while preventing electron passage. In contrast, semiconductors derived heterostructures with (hole) conducting demonstrated be much better conductors than conventional electrolytes. band structure alignment, bending built-in electric all important elements this context realize necessary functionalities. This review further extends semiconductor-based electrochemical conversion storage, describing their fundamentals working principles, intention of advancing understanding roles bands devices for well applications meet demands widely involved applications, such photocatalysis/water splitting devices, batteries solar cells. provides ideas solutions problems beyond presents interdisciplinary approaches develop clean storage Graphic
